Scents of Hong Kong
What does it smell like in Hong Kong? Is it the odour of polluted air? Or the mixed aroma of cuisines from Michelin starred dining places? Is it the smell of sweated suits? or the scent of perfumed street wear? We are stimulated by various kinds of smells everyday. Which of them would you associate with the impression of Hong Kong?
As part of "Scents of Life" contemporary jewellery exhibition, we collaborate with Moon Laboratory and INSINUO in this workshop, allowing participants to create their own scent of Hong Kong and wear it to the street.
Moon Laboratory has been experimenting with scents in different parts of Hong Kong. Each district has its own odour. When blended together, it gives you a picture of the city.

INSINUO will present a collection of brooches inspired by the textures found in different parts of Hong Kong. This collection aims to give odour a form such that we can hold it in our hands. The white ceramic pieces capture the traces of the odour which has once slipped through our fingers. They are transformed into pieces of brooches to carry the scents which you have created.
It's a documentary of two senses one will experience in this city.
